who we are executive team
Mark Hodson
Principal, Information Management Practice
Working with many global insurance, banking, and capital markets companies, Mark has led the delivery of strategic data warehouses and BI applications in areas such as sales and marketing effectiveness, risk analysis, regulatory compliance, and financial management. He quickly defines and bridges current performance, information needs, and analytical capabilities with proven technology methods, frameworks and platforms. In this way he uncovers succinct and previously latent business value in today’s ever larger and more complex corporate data environments.
Across every engagement, Mark’s results-driven approach surpasses BI solution planning and deployment: he enables organizations to effectively use their BI assets and resources, because this ability—putting solutions into daily practice—is what improves performance, creates market opportunities, and determines success. Delivering this ability to clients is Mark’s ultimate measure as a leader at Clarity.
Before joining Clarity, Mark worked at Knightsbridge Solutions for more than five years, helping it become the nation’s largest and most respected consultancy focused exclusively on business intelligence and data warehousing. By developing advisory and delivery relationships with many leading financial services clients, Mark grew Knightsbridge’s insurance industry segment from a single client to a $25 million business unit in three years.
When Hewlett-Packard acquired Knightsbridge in late 2006, Mark went on to lead HP’s Global Financial Services industry practice—one of the cornerstone verticals in the Business Intelligence Solutions division. During his tenure, Mark and his teams delivered BI solutions for such clients as ACE, AIG, Allstate, Citigroup, Cincinnati Financial, Fannie Mae, Farmers Insurance, JP Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, National City Bank, State Farm, Travelers, USAA, Wells Fargo, and Zurich.
Mark’s earlier work experience includes corporate business and technology leadership roles at Bankers Life and Casualty Company (Conseco), GATX Corporation, and nearly nine years in banking business units that are now part of US Bank. In those roles, he built programs and organizations that provided solutions in customer profitability, database marketing, risk-based pricing, operational performance, transportation logistics, and product management. He also held functional IT leadership roles in BI, sales and marketing automation, enterprise content management, SAP implementation, and treasury information systems.
Mark also spent several years in the consulting practice for Sagent Technology, Inc. (now part of Pitney Bowes), a pioneering platform vendor in end-to-end BI software. For clients in a variety of industries, Mark led several BI programs in customer data integration, sales/marketing effectiveness, and information delivery. Leveraging his history in delivering business information products and services, Mark solidified his relationships with industry thought leaders, as well as his reputation in the maturing BI solution space.
Mark is an alumnus of the University of Illinois and the University of Minnesota, holding a B S. and undertaking graduate studies and research in economics.
